Assata Collection

The Assata Collection is a curated story combining five Bogolanfin symbols to depict the journey of revolutionary freedom fighter, Assata Shakur. At the heart of the design is the Bones of a Snake symbol, representing the killing of a snake by a warrior. This symbolizes bravery and vigor and runs the center of the design, highlighting Assata's courage.

Surrounding the Bones of a Snake is the Fini N'Goloni Serakele, which represents a twisted road. This symbolizes Assata's lifelong journey and commitment to justice and equal rights. The Iguana's Elbow, symbolizes hunters being led to water. This pattern represents Assata's daring escape from prison and her journey to freedom in Cuba. Finally, the Tree of Light, represented by the Yiri Boulou Leaf, signifies Assata's continued free life in Cuba. This symbol celebrates her enduring spirit and the new life she has built.

Together, these patterns tell the powerful story of Assata Shakur's life, celebrating her bravery, resilience, and unwavering fight for justice. The Assata Collection honors her journey and the revolutionary spirit that continues to inspire.
